Academics
Academics
at Archbishop Rummel High School is a carefully designed and
coordinated program.The
school employs a dedicated and professional faculty who
teach a challenging curriculum to a focused and successful
student body. Rummel graduates have gone on to academic
success at many of the finest colleges and universities in
America, earning graduate and
professional degrees from a long list of schools.
The academic program at Archbishop Rummel High School
has been designed to address specific academic needs that have been
identified by the school’s administration and faculty. For
example, a standardized test preparation class has just been
introduced into the curriculum as a requirement for all students.
The recent upgrading of the school’s Honors Program includes a third
year of Latin as a requirement for all prospective Honors Program
candidates – as well as two years of a modern foreign language.
Among the worthwhile electives introduced into the curriculum are
classes such as Biology II, Chemistry II, and Creative Writing.
Electives enter the Archbishop Rummel High School curriculum only if
they address particular academic needs.
Academically advanced students are encouraged to seek
admittance into the school’s Honors Program; these same academically
gifted students may choose to enroll in a wide range of Advanced
Placement (AP) courses in order to fully develop their academic
potential. Other students with special academic needs are afforded
the opportunity to work in a curriculum that addresses their needs
in a personal manner. The school’s faculty, counseling
department, and its administration work with each student and his
family to identify how he might best achieve academic success.
