Admissions Policy
Admission to Archbishop Rummel High School is open to applicants who
have indicated their ability to follow the course of studies
provided by Archbishop Rummel and whose conduct has been such to
recommend them.
All prospective eighth graders and freshmen wishing to apply for
admission for the 2008-2009 school year must submit a completed
Archdiocesan Application by Friday, December 7, 2007. The completed
application form must be returned to the applicant’s grammar school
for a transcript of grades.
Ordinarily, all applicants for initial admission are selected
according to evaluation of cumulative records and standardized test
scores from elementary schools. Applicants to the eighth and ninth
grades must meet the following requirements: favorable
recommendations from principals of previous schools, satisfactory
conduct and effort grades, and passing all subjects.
A placement examination for prospective eighth graders and freshmen
will be given on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at Archbishop
Rummel High School.
Applicants from non-parochial schools applying for admission must
submit the completed archdiocesan application card, standardized
test scores, and teacher and counselor recommendations from the
school of current attendance.
All new upperclassmen applicants must submit a completed application
form, standardized test scores, teacher and counselor
recommendations along with a transcript from the school of current
attendance.
Admissions preference in the eighth grade and freshman year is given
to Catholics, students currently in parochial schools or religious
education programs, siblings of current students or alumni, and
children of alumni.
