Computer Programming

The members of this club prepare for and participate in computer programming contests for high school students that are held periodically throughout the school year. Students are grouped into teams consisting of 3 or 4 members each. When a contest is held, all participating teams are given the same set of problems to solve on the computer during a specified period of time (typically, 3 hours). The team solving the most problems in the least amount of time is the winner of the contest.

The club is a member of the South Louisiana Computer League, which sponsors three contests each year. Students also compete in contests held at various colleges and universities in Louisiana and Mississippi.
