Key Club
In
keeping with Key Club International’s pledge to "build our homes,
schools, and communities," along with ssisting the proctors of
entrance exams, ushering at parents meetings, selling drinks at
Student Council sponsored dances, and acting as guides for parents
of prospective students at Open House, the Archbishop Rummel Key
Club also works at graduation exercises.
In the community, the Key Club members
visit the New Orleans Home for Rehabilitation and Children’s
Hospital. For the last several years, the club’s members have manned
the 1st mile water station at the Crescent City Classic, volunteered
at sporting and other events at the New Orleans Arena, and worked at
the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. In cooperation with the
Archbishop Chapelle Key Club and both clubs’ sponsor, the Moisant
Kiwanis Club, they operate a monthly bingo at the Metairie Manor for
the elderly.
The Rummel Key Club attends and hosts
interclubs or divisional meetings with other area schools. Annually,
the club celebrates the end of the year at the
Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District Convention held at the
Gulf Coast Coliseum on the beaches of Biloxi, Mississippi.
