Visit Dates
Every fall, Archbishop Rummel hosts
various grammar school students for
“Raiders for a Day,” where students are
able to attend classes, participate in
class projects, eat lunch with the high
school students, and experience life at
Archbishop Rummel High School. Specific
dates for “Raiders for a Day” are posted
below.
Students who want to “feel” their
Archbishop Rummel experience should
spend a day on campus. To do so, the
student or his parents should contact
the Admissions Office and arrange a day
for an on-campus visit. Simply call the
Raider-for-a-Day HOTLINE at
504-834-5592, Ext. 214.
On the pre-arranged day, the grammar
schools guest will assemble in the
Administration Wing of the school with
other visitors. The Admissions Director
and other school officials will greet
them.
After lunch the guests will participate
in various classroom activities. They
may take part in science class
experiments, witness the activities of
the web crew as crew members update the
front page of the school’s website, use
their hands in ceramics and art classes,
or work with students in English or
mathematics classes.
As the day concludes, they will be much
better prepared to answer the question
of whether Archbishop Rummel is their
school of choice. Experience with
former visitors shows that the day is a
truly worthwhile activity for grammar
school students.
To sign-up for a day, simply call the
school at 834-5592 and ask for
the Raider-for-a-Day
HOTLINE (Extension
214). Normally, students report to
the school’s primary entrance (by the
flagpole on Severn Avenue) at a
designated time. Guests will have the
opportunity to eat lunch with a current
Archbishop Rummel 8th or 9th
grader of their choice. Please have a
name in mind when you call or the
Admissions Office will provide a willing
student for lunch.
