FAQs

How can I have my name put on the Admissions Office’s mailing list?
That’s simple.  Call or email the Admissions Office and give your name, address, phone number, email address, school and grade level.

How can I be a “Raider for a Day”?
Call the Admissions Office and see which days are available.  The school usually invites grammar school students on Mondays and Fridays and those days are normally grammar school holidays or special schedules.

If I were refused acceptance for eighth grade, could I apply for ninth grade?
Absolutely.

Should I apply for eighth grade because there will not be many openings for ninth grade?
Archbishop Rummel selects similar numbers for eighth and ninth grades, so students’ chances of being accepted are the same for both grades.  Please know, however, that Archbishop Rummel does not “pre-accept” students for ninth grade during seventh grade.

How will I be placed in classes?
The school places students according to their grammar school test scores, report cards, teacher recommendations and the placement test scores.  Also, Archbishop Rummel has severalcurricula :  honors, academic, basic.

Does Archbishop Rummel offer scholarships?
Only academic scholarships are offered.  The school awards scholarships based on scores made on the placement test.  If a student’s placement test score is in the 90 percentile and he has an excellent grammar school record, he will earn an academic scholarship.  His score on the test determines the amount.  Finally, the school has no limit on the number of academic scholarships that can be earned.

Can I transfer to Archbishop Rummel from another high school?
Yes, but the student should be passing all subjects at the end of the academic year in May.  If he wishes to transfer in January, he should be passing all subjects at the end of the first semester.  Also, he must have an impeccable discipline record.  Finally, all transfer students will be drug tested during the first week of school.

Does Archbishop Rummel pre-accept students for ninth grade?
No.
