LARRY TORTORICH Rummel Class
of ‘75
Larry proudly served on active
duty in the US Navy for 24 years and is still serving our
country as a civilian with the Department of Defense. Larry
retired from active duty as a Commander (O-5). He served on 7
aircraft carriers and participated in combat operations during
Operation DESERT STORM. Larry lived overseas in Japan, Italy
and Australia as well as Washington DC, Florida, California and
Rhode Island

Patrick Sellen '86
is currently stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Charlie Everhardt, Class of ’68
I am continuing to serve our Great Nation and have recently
transferred from the US Army to the US Air Force. I am a Civil
Engineer with the 48th Fighter Wing stationed at
Lakenheath RAF, England. After this three year tour I plan to
return to Metairie and retire with 35 years Federal Service and
30 years Military Service.Cheers from Jolly ole England

Class of 1992
alumni Derek J Dantin is a Sgt in the US
ARMY National Guard - 1-244 Command Aviation Battalion. We are an
air assault unit of over 17 UH-60 Blackhawk aircraft currently
stationed at the Hammond, La airport. I spent 14 months in Balad,
Iraq from 2003-2005, and I am currently awaiting orders for my
second tour in 2008. I am married to Chapelle Class of 1992 alumni
Kristin Bryant Dantin and we reside in Mandeville, La. |

I’m a 2Lt in the USAF, and just returned from a 1 year remote
tour to Kunsan A.B., S. Korea. I am currently serving as the
Section Commander for the 20TH Logistics Readiness
Squadron @ Shaw AFB, S. Carolina. Please continue to provide
updates, I really enjoy reading about my fellow classmates.

LtCol Jay Krail USMC ‘79
I have been a
Marine since 1980. I just finished a tour as the Executive Officer
of the 3d Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division. I am in a reserve
status now and I am scheduled to spend the month of May 2007 as part
of the joint exercise staff for exercise Cobra Gold in Thailand. I
am assigned to the Marine Forces Pacific Operations Section (G-3).

LT Chris Newell
(Class of 1993) currently serving as Flag Aide to Rear Admiral
Berube (Commander, U.S. Fleet and Industrial Supply Centers / Naval
Supply Systems Command) has received orders to report aboard the San
Diego-based Guided Missile Cruiser USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57). |
Randal Taylor Class 0f
1998. My familiy in New Orleans still recieves letters from
Rummel and upon reading one I received this email address. I have
just returned from a one year tour in Iraq. I am a part of the
101st Airborne Division. Since graduating from Rummel I graduated
from the Univ. of South Alabama and entered the US Army as a 2nd
Lieutenant. I graduated from Army Intelligence school in 2004 and
made my way to Ft. Campbell KY. I was stationed in Ft. Campbell for
one year until deployment in Sept 2005. In Iraq I was a part of the
MiTT (Military Transition Team) in charge of training the Iraqi
army. After multiple enemy engagements, I returned home in Sept 06
awaiting promotion to Captain and the Intelligence carrer course in
May 2007. I want to thank all of you at Rummel who helped me excel
in life and Geaux Raiders!!! |

Eric Kuntz '88
served in the military for 16 years and just returned from a 14
month deployment in Iraq. He is currently a 1LT and slotted to be
promoted to Captain in the next couple of months. He was the sniper
officer for 2nd Battalion, 256 Brigade |

Stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC
Currently deployed in Iraq - Camp TQ since September '05 Present:After
returning to the United States from Iraq, I was promoted to the rank
of Cpl in the USMC. I spent 6 months at Camp Lejeune, and I changed
duty stations to South Korea. I arrived in Korea on October 7, 2006
and I will be serving here for a year. |

Troy F. Gandolfi
'93, was recently promoted to the rank of
Staff Sergeant in the USMC after serving a second tour in Iraq.
While serving with 1st Battalion 23rd Regiment at the Hadithah Dam
in the Al Anbar providence in western Iraq, he received his second
Combat Ribbon during Operation River Blitz.

Coach Roule what's up?
Good to hear from you. I am doing good. For the next year or so I'll
be stationed at FT. Bragg which is in Fayetteville, NC. My current
rank is a Specialist. On 20 march I wiill start my next phase of
training which will be 5 weeks of SUT(small unit tactics), i.e.
ambushes, raids, and recon missions, then I'll go straight into SERE
(survival, evasion, resistance, and escape) which last about 3
weeks. After that I'll have about 2 months until my next phase
starts. Hope all is going well at ARHS and especially with you and
your
family. Tell all the chimps I said what's up.

"I'm a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard.
My job (rate) is a Boatswain mate, I'm currently stationed at USCG
Station Dauphin Island in Alabama. I've been in the USCG for five
and a half years, in that time I've been stationed on a 110' Cutter
the USCGC Sapelo out of Key West, FL and at USCG Station Venice, LA.
I have a wife and a beautiful 8 month old daughter."

I retired an Army Colonel in 2003 with 30 years
reserve service, last 18 months active duty mobilized to Ft. Bragg,
NC. I
am almost 30 years now with the US Army Corps of Engineers and am
currently
spending a three year tour here in Germany.
