Raider alumnus Adam Klein,
'07, a member of the Auburn
University swim team,
recently participated in the
Olympic Trials in Omaha,
NE. In
competition
with the
best swimmers in the USA,
Adam finished 29th
overall in the 100m
breaststroke, and 17th
overall in the 200m
breaststroke. He said it
was probably the fastest
meet in the world so far
this year and is the highest
level of swimming
competition in the country.
In this Olympic trials
picture, he's the only
swimmer whose head is above
water. Adam said the
competitions were live on TV
from June 29 through July 6
but he missed being on TV by
one tenth of a second. The
top 16 were on TV for the
semifinals and he was number
17. Klein said one fun part
of the
competition
was his
becoming friends with
Olympians Cullen Jones,
Brendan Hansen, and former
Olympian Roque Santos.
