Happy 4th of July

On July 3rd to help the senior citizens of the East Jefferson Adult Center celebrate the 4th of July, Operation Headstart planned an Independence Day celebration. Food and entertainment were provided. Games. were played with prizes awarded. Flags, red, white & blue decorations, and pictures with Uncle Sam were all on the agenda. Most of these senior citizens are faced with the challenges of living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or complications from stroke or others diseases. With over 30 Operation HeadStart members in attendance, these ARHS students were able to entertain the seniors and help them pass a rainy afternoon celebrating July 4th. This was a service project made possible by a grant from the Brown Foundation. Mark Firmin, Operation HeadStart director, wants to thank all the members, Mrs. Brauninger, Ms. Grunberg, Mrs. Kliebert and all the staff of the East Jefferson Adult Center for their help. This was possibly one of the most successful events for this organization in thirteen years. Happy July 4th!!!!
