On Tuesday prospective students
and their families began the first
day of two weeks of after-school
interviews. They spoke with
Archbishop Rummel administrators and
faculty members who are working with
the Admissions Office in evaluating
applicants for next years eighth
and ninth grade classes. First
interviews each day begin at 4 p.m.
and they run through 6 p.m. Anyone
interested in more information about
Archbishop Rummel should contact the

student Turner "Trey"
Kirkwood III has been
selected to reign as
King Atlas 37th during
the annual parade on
Friday, January 25th.
Reigning as Queen is
Miss Laura Yeager, a
sophomore at Mount
Carmel Academy. Trey is
a freshman and has
served as a manager for
the Raider football
team.
In
addition to reigning as
the monarchs of Atlas,
the two will also reign
as King and Queen Jason
V. Trey has served as
Jason's Junior Captain
for the past five years,
and this year Jason is
joining forces with the
Corps de Napoleon Krewe
to put on one fabulous
parade on Saturday,
February 2nd.
This is the first time
in the history of Mardi
Gras in Jefferson Parish
that the same king and
queen reigned over two
parading organizations
during the same season.

Schmidt's Civics class ran a
contest on best political
cartoons. The winner will
appear in the February
edition of the Raiders'
Digest. Make sure to watch
for it. The winner is Devin
Burgess. Congratulations to
all the contestants. The
Civics classes will also
hold a Mock Congress in
early March.
