Father/Son Mass and Luncheon

On Sunday, February 17, the annual Father/Son Mass and Luncheon was held in the Archbishop Rummel gymnasium.  The guest speaker, Mr. Donnie Bourgeois, made an emotional presentation that moved both the Raiders and their fathers.  Following Mass, a barbeque meal was enjoyed by all.

NEW Winter Sports Award
Derek Planchet (with Trophy) and Steven Pareti recently participated in an Interscholastic Chess Tournament, in which they finished a strong third place.  Flanking them are team members Alex Stauton and Ethan Eilers.  Anyone interested in playing for the ARHS Chess Team should go to Room 202 right after school on Mondays or Wednesdays.  The Disney Career Start Program is hiring.  A recruiter will be in our area on March 11th and 13th to discuss the opportunities available through working at Walt Disney World.  Click here for all the information
 
 Musical Bonanza will be held Wednesday, February 27th from 6:45-9:00 in the Raider Room. Doors open at 6:15. Admission is $5 at the door. This year, it will feature 14 bands from various Rummel students. T-shirts will be on sale the night of the event for $12. "Vintage" t-shirts will also be on sale for $2 at the door.

Congratulations to the Rummel Cheerleaders! They attended the Worldwide Spirit Association Cheerleading Competition this weekend at the New Orleans Convention Center and placed first! Click here for pictures
 

New Raider Notifications - click here to see. All prospective eighth and ninth graders for the 2008-09 school year at Archbishop Rummel High School will receive their letters from the Admissions Office this coming Saturday, March 1st.
To celebrate their sons' acceptance into Archbishop Rummel, parents and guardians may purchase "Proud Rummel Raider" signs from the Raider Bookstore for $10 each.    Bookstore hours are 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Next on the agenda for new Raiders is the annual Registration Day on Saturday, March 8th, on campus.  On this day students and parents will meet with school officials and pay the $350 new student registration fee that guarantees placement in the Classes of 2012 and 2013.
