National Catholic Youth Conference
Junior Chris Lazarine,
Sophomore Tim Autin and
Freshman Josh Ault, were
among 20,000 participants at
the National Catholic Youth
Conference held recently in
Columbus Ohio. The
three attended with their
parish youth groups as part
of the Archdiocese of New
Orleans' 130 person
delegation to the
convention. One of the
highlights of the convention
was the keynote speech by
Father Tony Ricard, uncle of
Junior Albert Lopez. Father
Tony spoke of his personal
journey of recovery from
Katrina and the recovery of
his parish, Our Lady Star of
the Sea. At one point in his
talk he invited the whole
New Orleans delegation to
show the crowd what recovery
meant as they danced around
the stage--then offered a
blessing and a prayer for
all who have helped with the
recovery effort.
