Youth Legislature

Youth Legislature at Rummel High School/HI-Y gives teens the tools and desire to become citizen leaders. Local schools, YMCAs and community organizations get started in HI-Y by finding an advisor and teens who want to make a positive impact in their community.
In late February or early March of each year, this club will attend a mock Legislative Session in Baton Rouge. Here, students will practice writing bills and the procedure used to get them passed.
