As a member of the
"Raiders' Digest" staff, a student learns about journalism and
how to produce a high school newspaper. The work involves
in-class and after-school hours. Students assist in the
production of the school publications and in the various
activities of the Public Relations office.
The student learns to write several types of stories
including front page, feature, and sports. As a staff member,
he may write editorials and columns. Most staff members will
also get involved in the layout, makeup, and headline writing
of the paper. Several issues are distributed to the student
body each year. Staff members spend several weeks preparing
each issue.
