College Tour Information

Archbishop Rummel High School is proud to announce the 2010 Renaissance-sponsored College Tour.  The 2010 College Tour will run from June 1st until June 9th and cover the east coast of the United States.
Students rising in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade for next year who are in good academic, attendance, and discipline standing are welcome to attend.  Priority will be given to upperclassmen as spots are limited.
A tentative itinerary has been established and will be finalized as the tour nears.  The tour will include visits to the following schools: University of Southern Mississippi, University of Alabama, University of Georgia, Clemson University, Wake Forest University, University of Richmond, Georgetown University, US Naval Academy, Duke University, and Emory University.

In addition to school visits, the following activities are scheduled: a tour of the Washington DC area including the Smithsonian Museums, a Cincinnati Reds vs. Washington Nationals baseball game, Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC, and rafting at the U.S. National Whitewater Rafting Center in Charlotte, NC.
Students will travel by chartered bus and the tour will be chaperoned by Archbishop Rummel faculty members.  The final cost of the trip will be finalized once the number of students is established; however, the final cost will be in the $800 range.  This cost will include the chartered bus, hotel accommodations, and the group activities listed above.  In addition, each student will receive three collared College Tour shirts to wear on the college campuses.

Students will need spending money for meals and any souvenirs they purchase.  Some group meals may be covered depending on extra funds available.  Most hotels will have complimentary hot breakfast available.

A deposit of $100 will be due by Wednesday, February 24th – the week after the Mardi Gras holidays.  All deposits can be brought to Mr. Cadella in the Admissions Office.

Once all travel and visit details are finalized, we will have a parent meeting to pass along all information about the College Tour.

Please contact Mr. Casey Cadella at ccadella@rummelraiders.com or 504.834.5592 ext. 226 with any questions.
