Four Genesian Players veterans and Archbishop Rummel alumni have been nominated for Big Easy Music Awards for local theater excellence. The alumni, their nominations, and productions are as follows: Brandt Blocker, ’90, nominated for Best Director of a Musical, “White Christmas”; Keith Claverie, ’03, nominated for Best Actor in a Musical, “Aida”; Leon Contavasprie, ’88, nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy, “Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage”; and Kasey Marino, ’96, nominated for Best Actor in a Musical, “Company.” All four nominees began their theater work under the direction of former Genesian Players founder and director Chuck Guajardo. The awards ceremony will take place on Monday, April 29 at the Harrah’s Casino Theater.
