As the days of summer press on, new Archbishop Rummel 8th and 9th grade students were treated to two weeks of an introduction to Archbishop Rummel High School.

Students use the morning sessions to brush up on their math basics and logic, English grammar and writing  skills, and organization and study skills session on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers. 

In the afternoon throughout the 2 weeks, students met club moderators and coaches with activities like art, science, ultimate frisbee, rugby, wrestling, lacrosse, soccer, and computer. 

On the Thursday of each week, half of the group traveled to Vincent’s Restaurant for a restaurant etiquette course.  Students were taught how to dress for a special occasion, how to tie a tie, and how to properly order and act in a restaurant setting. 

For the field trip on Friday, the group traveled to the Creole Queen for a riverboat cruise and a tour of Chalmette Battlefield.  The last Friday of the two weeks, the group had a fun day of bowling at Colonial Bowling Lanes.
