Evangelists, friends, teachers, leaders...Rummel teachers seek a more personal relationship with their class and are always willing to go the extra mile.

Ms. Mire has been at Rummel so long, no one exactly knows what she did in a previous life. Rumor has it she grew up very close to Banks St. in New Orleans and attended Cabrini High School. Nursing home residents in San Antonio and Tyler, Texas claim she was their English teacher back before J.D. Salinger wrote Catcher in the Rye..
Since Brother John Fairfax hired her in 1973, most of her time has been spent at 1901 Severn teaching English to Juniors and Seniors. Parents of current students may still have nervous tremors when they remember the term papers they turned in to Miss Morgavi. In 1986, Miss Morgavi returned to school as Ms. Mire and became an honest woman.
In 1989, Ms. Mire turned on her first IBM computer, a speed demon with 640 K of RAM and a 40 meg hard drive. Somehow that led to a new career although she claims she is still just "an English teacher disguised as a Technology Coordinator." If she's not sitting at one of the 250 plus work stations on campus, you can find her in her spacious office which was probably once a broom closet in the administrative area.

Additional Comments

Sometimes, I ask myself what a nice girl like me is doing in a job like this. Last time I looked, I was Chairman of the English department or Student Council moderator or something. Now, I'm crawling around on the floor checking to see if the network cable is plugged in to a work station. Oh well, I guess it's like New Orleans weather; if you don't like it, wait awhile and it will change.
