The 2011 All Class Reunion is set for Saturday, September 24 at the New Orleans Mariott Hotel. Specific details and registration information can be obtained by opening the links above.
In 2010, two veteran members of the Archbishop Rummel family were recognized at the All-Class Reunion held at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel. During the official program, alumni president Dominick Impastato, ’97, presented the Alumnus of the Year plaque to Mr. Robert Whitman, ’69, and the Legends plaque to longtime faculty member, coach, and honorary alumnus, Mr. Ronald Doyle. Both men spoke to the reunion assembly and thanked the association for their recognitions.
Also addressing the audience was Mr. Michael Begg, school president. The school’s first honorary alumnus, Brother John Fairfax, FSC, was present at the reunion.
“The first Archbishop Rummel Alumni All Class Reunion was started in 2009 and was held at the New Orleans Marriott Convention Center. Over 300 alumni and guests from Classes of 1966-2009 were in attendance. The All Class Reunion was started to allow all Classes from Archbishop Rummel High School to have a chance to meet and mingle with Alumni from every graduating class,” said Kevin O’Brien, ’93.
The annual Alumnus of the Year and the Raider Legend Award were initially awarded in 2009. Longtime faculty member John Niemietz received the Raider Legend Award, while Dave Russo, ’71, was presented with the Alumnus of the Year Award. Also that evening, former football coach Don Perret led a rousing chant of “Raider Pride.”
Starting in 2009, an Alumnus of the Year and Raider Legend Award were presented at the All Class Reunion. Past recipients are as follows:
