Working with each student’s academic program, Archbishop Rummel’s Department of Athletics seeks to make the Archbishop Rummel student a well-rounded individual. To be eligible for participation in the school’s athletic program at any level, the student must pass, during the previous school year, at least six subjects which count toward graduation requirements.
For first semester participation, a student must also earn at least a 1.50 grade point average in all subjects pursued. For second semester participation, a student must pass six subjects, with no GPA minimum requirement. To participate in varsity or junior varsity competition, the student must live in Archbishop Rummel’s school district and/or have attended a feeder school in Archbishop Rummel’s school district the previous school year. A student may participate in junior high athletics regardless of residence or previous school.
In addition to the varsity program, the Athletic Department also provides junior varsity and junior high teams. All squads play full schedules or games. Call outs on all teams are announced early in the school year.
