The Raider Track and Field season begins in January and concludes with the Outdoor State Championship in early May. All students are welcome to tryout and any student participating in another LHSAA sport may come out upon completiton of their season. There are three divisions: Junior High (8th and 9th Grade), Junior Varsity (Grades 9th-11th), and Varsity (Grades 9th-12th).
Students are able to tryout for any of the 18 events.
The Field Events are asfollows:
Javelin, Discus, Shot Put, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault.
The Running Events are as follows:
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 3200m, 110m HH, 300m IH, 4x100m Relay, 4x200m Relay, 4x400m Relay.
The program has a tradition of excellence with 8 District Championships, 4 Regional Championships, and 1 State Championship. The most recent title coming in 2012 with the Region III-5A Championship.
