Sponsored by the Christian Brothers, Archbishop Rummel teachers Dane Brackvitch and Don Stout are finishing their second week of classes this summer at the Buttimer Institute for Lasallian Studies, held at St. Mary’s University in Moraga, CA. Mr. Brackvitch is in his first year of the program, studying the life of St. John Baptist de La Salle and the origins of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Mr. Stout, in his second year, is studying the educational philosophies and methodologies of Lasallian education. While taking a break from classes this past weekend, Buttimer participants had the opportunity to visit the Golden Gate Bridge, ride the famous San Francisco cable cars, and walk on Lombard Street, “the crookedest street in the world.”
