Congratulations to the Raider Track and Field Team for their 4th place finish at the LHSAA Division I Indoor State Championship held Saturday at LSU finishing with 22 points. The Raiders recorded their highest finish at the State Meet in decades and finished with 4 members standing on the podium, 1 State Champion in the 800m Run establishing a New State Record, and 1 State Runner-Up finish in the 4x400m Relay. Overall, the Raiders had 8 student-athletes in 8 events qualify for the Indoor State Championship. They were Cyril Grayson, Joshua Brumfield, Chris Ricks, Matthew Trammell, Justin Copling, Brian Hunt, Peter Santos, and Joshua Tannehill. Top Finishers were: Cyril Grayson- State Champion in the 800m Run with a time of 1:55.33 setting a New Louisiana Championship Composite Record and Division I Meet Record 4x400m Relay- State Runner-Up running 3:28.44: Joshua Brumfield, Brian Hunt, Justin Copling, Cyril Grayson, Matthew Trammell- 4th place in the High Jump with a jump of 6’0”

55m Dash- Cyril Grayson (US #43) Time: 6.48
400m Dash- Cyril Grayson (US #12) Time: 48.73
800m Run- Cyril Grayson (US #13) Time: 1:55.33
4x400m Relay- Joshua Brumfield, Brian Hunt, Justin Copling, Cyril Grayson (US #85) Time: 3:28.44
Next up for the Raider Track and Field Team will be the Outdoor season opener competing at Chalmette High School Thursday, March 1st.
