Archbishop Rummel High School operates its summer school primarily for the benefit of its own students. The school accepts all area high school students, male and female, who are seeking to take courses for the remediation of failures. The school does not offer courses for new credit.

Course offerings for remediation:
(* may require charge for workbook) Registration Friday, May 30th Archbishop Rummel students will register from 8 a.m. 11 a.m. Archbishop Chapelle students will register from 11 a.m. 12 p.m. All other students register from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration will take place in rooms 110 111. Please enter through the breezeway on the Severn Avenue side of the school. The last day to register will be Wednesday, June 4th.
Important: Non-Rummel students are reminded to bring the Summer School Permits issued by the home schools. Permits should include the course title and the semester(s) to be remediated, either 1st, 2nd, or both. Students will not be enrolled without a permit.
Schedules will be created at the time of registration. Each student will leave campus with a copy of his/her assigned course schedule, including class times and room numbers.
Tuition is payable in full at the time of registration. Cash, checks, Visa, and MasterCard, American Express will be accepted. At the end of the summer session, final exams will not be administered for students who have outstanding balances. No tuition will be refunded after Friday, June 6th. Some courses may require additional fees for workbooks or computer lab fees.
Classes begin Tuesday, June 3rd. Friday, July 4th will be observed as a holiday. Students will not be allowed excused absences for the two days prior to or following the holiday. Any work missed on those dates will not be allowed to be made up.
Exams for morning classes will be administered from 8 a.m. 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 10th. Exams for afternoon classes will be administered from 8 a.m. 10 a.m. on Friday, July 11th.
EXAMS MUST BE TAKEN ON THE SCHEDULED DATES, AND VACATIONS MUST BE SCHEDULED AROUND SUMMER SCHOOL DATES. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Grades: Students will receive letter grades (A, B, C, D, or F) for each ½ credit course. For Archbishop Rummel students, summer school grades do not count toward their overall grade point averages. Summer courses are for credit only.
A mid-term report will be issued to each student by each teacher on Friday, June 20th. Final grade reports will be mailed to the students home and to the school that the student attended for the 2007-08 school year. The expected mailing date is Thursday, July 17th.
Attendance: Archbishop Rummel Summer School requires students to attend a minimum of 54 instructional hours to make up each ½ credit. These attendance requirements exceed the minimums set by the Louisiana Department of Education. Any absences, including those due to late registration, will be made up on Monday, July 14 and Tuesday, July 15. Any student who does not attain the minimum amount of instructional hours required will be dropped from the course. In these instances, no credit will be issued, and no tuition will be refunded.
Tardiness: Students who accumulate 3 times tardy to class whether at the beginning of the school day, between classes, or returning from break will be charged with an absence. Any student who is more than 15 minutes tardy for class will be considered absent, even if the student finally arrives. Excessive tardiness may result in the student being dropped from the course.
A detailed set of grooming, dress code, discipline, and attendance policy statements will be issued and discussed in assemblies on the first day of classes. A parental form will be sent home for a signature; this form will be kept on file.
