On Saturday, January 5th, Rummel rugby team members and alumni took time out from their holiday schedule to meet for the Inaugural Rummel Rugby Alumni Match. It was a beautiful afternoon for rugby, and the match was an exciting, back-and-forth contest with the alums edging out the current A-side squad 48-36. While the Alumni team tended to dazzle and then fizzle based on some impressive individual efforts on the part of their many accomplished and still-active players, Rummel's much smaller, less experienced side hung together and played a disciplined, team-oriented game plan. If the Raiders can keep that continuity and team chemistry going into their opening league match against Jesuit February 21st, this season should be a good one.

Many Rummel alumni are now playing and contributing greatly at LSU, Southeastern, UL and for the New Orleans Rugby Club.
