Food Services
Archbishop Rummel High School has a variety of food options available everyday in the school cafeteria and the Raider Room. The school’s food selection is modeled after college food court and student commons areas.
Our vendors provide a wide selection of appealing menu items at prices less than their regular store prices. We have reduced the number of fried food offerings. Subway offers salads and freshly-made sandwiches. Domino’s Pizza (which is also part of the Jefferson Parish School System lunch program) offers pizza with reduced fat cheese, which is more nutritious than the Archdiocesan Food Service pizza. Crescent Spoon also offers a salad option everyday.
Also noteworthy is the fact that we have reduced the carbonated soft drink offerings and instead offer more options which include milk, juice, water (in five different flavors), and Powerade. Coca-Cola has a special school program which all schools who sell Coke products adhere to.
There are several other Catholic high schools that do not offer the Archdiocesan Food Service program. Our prices are comparable to, if not more affordable than, those schools.
Students always have the option to bring their lunch to school. Our food service program does not require mandatory fees (as some other school do), nor does it restrict a student from bringing his lunch to school.
One goal of our food service program is to provide work study opportunities for needy students. Through our partnership with our vendors, students who would not normally have an opportunity to attend Archbishop Rummel High School are able to do so because of our work study program. Currently, over 100 families benefit from this program.
Breakfast is also served daily in the Raider Room and at Subway in the cafeteria.
