In 2007, Ms. Bordelon began working with the Jefferson Performing Arts Society, where she choreographed the Ambie Award nominated CABARET and the Ambie Award winning CATS for the high school summer program. In 2011, she directed and choreographed the first ever JPAS Theatre Kids! Competition Team who took home top honors, such as Outstanding Performance.
Ms. Bordelon was also awarded The Freddie G Teaching Experience award that afforded her the opportunity to spend time in New York studying with industry leaders.
She has worked with many of the area’s youth in local schools, such as Christ Episcopal School, St Philip Neri, Stuart Hall, Jesuit High School, Mandeville High School, St. Benilde, Isidore Newman, and Mount Carmel Academy. She is also the Owner/Artistic Director of the metro area’s newest virtual theatrical conservatory: Stagedoor Studios.
A Chapellette Alumna, Ms. Bordelon said, “I look forward to the opportunity to return to my roots. It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to pass my love of the arts to budding young performers.”
Lynne and her husband Ben reside on the northshore with their two daughters, Lucille and Reece; Gertrude, the rescued dog; and Emmy & Ruby, the best guinea pigs in the world.
Archbishop Rummel Head of School, Mr. Marc Milano said, “We are so excited to have Ms. Bordelon joining our fine arts staff. When we were interviewing candidates for this position, we looked to find someone who would continue the traditions established by the original Genesian Players’ Director, Mr. Chuck Guajardo. I have no doubt that Ms. Bordelon will continue those traditions and make us proud with the wealth of knowledge and expertise she will bring to our theatre program.”
