Engineering Visits Laitram/Intralox
Engineering I students visited the facilities at Laitram/Intralox to explore career opportunities for engineers. First they assembled plastic conveyor belt parts to understand how the components fit together, then students toured the production plant to see how the products are made – from design on paper then on computer, to the assembling and processing of components, to the finished product. Tour guides included several Rummel alumni who work at the Laitram companies. By seeing the engineering processes at Laitram, the students experienced large-scale application of the concepts they learn in class. They also discovered a range of great career prospects in engineering here in the local area.
