Genesians Visit Manhattan
5 days, 4 nights, 4 Broadway shows, 3 museums, 3 meet and greets, many theatres, a statue, a building, an island, and 36 walking miles later, the Genesian Players returned back to Metairie with many experiences they will remember for a lifetime. The Genesians hoped to experience as many things as possible while visiting New York City and did they ever. Les Miserables, The Crucible, Something Rotten!, and She Loves Me were the shows seen on the Great White Way while also getting to have lunch and meet Ms. Eshleman's friend Hardy Weaver, who is in Book of Mormon and go back stage of Something Rotten! to meet two principal actors and an ensemble member. During the tour of the Lincoln Center, the group also met Ms. Eshleman's friend Thomas Thoon, who is the light designer for the Metropolitan Opera. The Natural History Museum, Guggenheim, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and a backstage tour of Radio City Music Hall were the other places visited. Needless to say, the Genesians stayed busy while in NYC.
