Our Mission
Archbishop Rummel High School educates each student according to the principles of the Catholic Church in the Lasallian tradition of faith, community, and service. In a caring, disciplined environment of social awareness and academic excellence, Archbishop Rummel High School challenges each student to recognize the dignity of life and to develop and share, to the best of his ability, his unique talents.
The Blueprint for Your Future
The decision on where to spend your high school years is a critical one. The place you choose will be your home for the next four or five years. It is here, at 1901 Severn Avenue, where you will discover the blueprint for your future as you become the man God has created you to be.
Our charism of faith, community, service, and excellence guides all that we do in and outside of the classroom. We encourage our young men to discover the plan that God has for their lives and to sharpen the skills necessary to see that plan out and to become the men God has created them to be. With our unique curriculum offerings, Archbishop Rummel High School helps our students to stay ahead of the curve in an ever changing world.
For over sixty-five years, we have educated young men in grades eight through twelve in the Catholic faith, and have established a strong record of alumni who are engaged in every respectable profession imaginable. By following the game plan, in and out of the classroom, our graduates are prepared for whatever life throws at them. We could not be more proud of the men who have taken what they have learned from these hallways and transformed their industries and the world as a result. This is the tradition that you enter into by choosing to become a Raider.
There are many options for high school in the greater New Orleans area. But there is only one Archbishop Rummel High School. Located in the heart of Metairie, our campus of more than twenty acres provides ample space for our young men to pursue whatever they desire. With full sized football, soccer, and baseball fields, an all weather turf field, an indoor baseball facility, robotics and engineering labs, a gymnasium, band building, and wrestling complex, we are able to accommodate multiple sports and activities all at once, all on our campus. Whatever your interests, whatever your skills, after your time at Archbishop Rummel High School you will be built for success and ready to tackle whatever comes next.

Live Jesus in Our Hearts…Forever
Every Lasallian class begins with the same words: “Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God.” From weekly Mass in the Raider Gym to a retreat for every grade, Campus Ministry nights the students plan themselves, and 130 hours of service before graduation, faith is a part of every day at Archbishop Rummel High School.
Faith in Action
Rooted in the Lasallian tradition, faith is woven into daily life at Archbishop Rummel High School through Mass, retreats, student led ministry, and service, forming students grounded in the holy presence of God from 8th grade through graduation.

Belize Mission
Each year our Raiders partner with students from Archbishop Chapelle High School to travel to Belize, spreading the Gospel through hands-on service, school retreats, and visits to the sick. It is a powerful way our students live out the Lasallian virtues of faith, community, service, and excellence by encountering Christ’s love beyond our borders.
March for Life
Each January, Raiders travel to Washington, DC with the Archdiocese of New Orleans to march as a prayerful and public witness to the dignity of every human life, alongside schools from around the country.
The Curriculum
Every Raider follows a full college preparatory core across five years, with Theology, English, and Math every year. Student formation is at the center of the curriculum at Archbishop Rummel High School, which is why each student takes Theology every year to deepen his understanding of himself and his relationship with the Lord. Taking English and Math every year keeps those skills sharp for the ACT and builds the strong transcripts competitive universities require. Students are placed in the Honors or Academic program based on test scores and classroom performance.
At least one computer elective is required for graduation.

Featured Electives
Before we offer a new course here at Archbishop Rummel High School, we ask ourselves three questions: will the course help the student become the man God created him to be, will the course engage and challenge students in unique ways, and will the course help students select a possible career path. These courses not only interest our students, but they also allow students to participate in hands-on, real-world experiences.

The Arts
An arts education is irreplaceable. In the studio, on the stage and in the band room, students learn to look closely, imagine what is not there yet, take creative risks, revise their work and present it with confidence, habits that carry into every classroom and every career. At Archbishop Rummel High School, fine arts runs from studio art through AP to band at both beginning and advanced levels, photography, TV production and public speaking, and carries on past the bell with the Raider Band, the Genesian Players and the Rummel Streaming Network.
Pre-Professional
For jobs in the 21st century, students are expected to read critically, work collaboratively, think creatively, solve complex problems, and manage information using digital technology and other communication tools. Through the pre-professional programs at Archbishop Rummel High School, students will learn both in the classroom and inside real world environments such as medical centers and engineering offices. Through community and alumni partnerships, students will learn from some of the area’s top professionals in these industries.
