The Fishing Rodeo is a community event built around the fishing tradition of South Louisiana. There are adult, teen and youth divisions, an open launch that lets you fish any navigable Louisiana water, and a campus wide weigh in that everybody comes back for.
Family Fest runs beside the scales on Saturday afternoon, with a DJ, food, kid games and a casting competition, so the people who did not spend three days in a boat still have a reason to turn up.
It brings alumni, current families and prospective families onto campus together, and every dollar goes back to the school.
