Chemistry Studies Melting Points of Stearic, Palmitic, and Lauric Acids
Dr. Hernandez's Chemistry classes studied the heating and cooling curves of three wax-like substances to observe what happens as the substance is melting or freezing. Using the melting point, students were able to distinguish between Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid and Lauric Acid.
