Rummel robotics competed last week in the FIRST Robotics Corp Bayou Regional Tournament at the Pontchartrain Center. Rummel finished in the top 10 out of the 27 Louisiana robot teams and was the outstanding Catholic school bot in the state.
The team was led by senior Brian Weidenbacher, driving specialists Josh Sofio, Brandon Nguyen, William Salvaggio, and Joel Medina, and technical directors Kolby and Kyle Torres. The 30 member team will compete again this summer in tournaments at Mandeville and Denham Springs. Rummel Robotics was a first place finisher in the Gulfport tournament last summer.
