Genesians
Congratulations to the Cast of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown!"
The mission of the Archbishop Rummel High School Genesian Players is to guide, nurture, challenge, and encourage, in the Catholic, Lasallian tradition, a passion for the multidisciplinary nature of the performing arts. Through education and performance in theatre, music, dance, and visual and technical theatre, the Genesian student will grow artistically, mentally, and, most importantly, spiritually through the intercession of our patron, Saint Genesius of Rome.
Founded in 1963 by faculty member Charles “Chuck” Guajrado, the Genesian Players are a community of male students from Archbishop Rummel High School and female students from local area high schools grades 8-12 who share a common passion: the performing arts.
The school year will feature two fully-staged productions led by Archbishop Rummel Director of Theatre Brandt Blocker,‘90, and professional artists in the disciplines of acting, music, choreography, costuming, lighting, sound, and production design.
Members of the Genesian Players who show an extensive dedication to the theatrical arts are eligible for membership in the International Thespian Society, an honors organization recognizing theatrical excellence since 1929. ITS members may participate in both statewide and national theatrical competitions and receive scholarship opportunities from theatre programs around the world. The Genesian Players are officially registered as troupe 8460 in the Louisiana State Chapter of the International Thespian Society. Troupe membership is open to all male Genesians and to all female Genesians who do not attend a school that hosts its own Thespian troupe.
You can find all our audition and performance dates on the main Archbishop Rummel High School calendar, as well as on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Girls may letter in Genesians as well as Archbishop Rummel students.
