ARCHBISHOP RUMMEL’S WRITING CENTER: RAFT
MISSION & PURPOSE
The mission of Archbishop Rummel’s Writing Center (RAFT) is to provide interested students with the space and time to engage in a meaningful dialogue about their writing throughout the writing process.
This collaboration empowers students to evaluate their own writing, to develop strategies for revision and to take ownership of their writing.
The Writing Center’s mission is achieved through these student-teacher dialogue objectives where the student will be able to:
● Clarify the purpose of the writing assignment
● Identify revision points
● Annotate these points on his paper
● Brainstorm/articulate/defend strategies of revision
● Incorporate the best revision strategies for his purpose
● Take his writing in a new direction when necessary
● Evaluate verbally the effectiveness of this writing process
